Gender Identity, By Deborah Blum, The Gender Blur, And...

â€Å"Boys will be boys, and girls will be girls†, says Aaron Devor. Women and men have always been seen as totally different people, but is it right to say that women are different from men. Many research findings support these gender differences. The range of critical response to the topic of the gender is clearly discussed in the reviews written by Aaron Devor â€Å"Gender Role Behaviors and Attitudes,† Deborah Blum â€Å"The Gender Blur,† and Mariah Burton Nelson in â€Å"I Won. I’m Sorry†. Marian Burton Nelson, a former Stanford University and professional basketball player and author of sit book on gender identity. Deborah Blum, a Pulitzer Prize Winning professor of journalism at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Aaron Derov, a sociology professor at University of Victoria. All three articles have similar and different opinions, but they are all about gender differences. While Devor and Blum talk about the origin of gender differences in men and women, Nelson focuses more on strong women; all three articles focus their discussions on aggressiveness, gender behaviors, and male domination. First, all three articles comment on male aggressiveness. Devor says, â€Å"Typical masculine body posture tends to be expansive and aggressive.†(509). He based his point on the masculine body that expresses the aggressiveness and gives fear to women. Also, he says â€Å"Masculinity exhibits the aura of aggression, violence, and daring† (508). Related words to femininity include â€Å"girlishness†, â€Å"womanhood†, â€Å"effeteness†, and â€Å"womanly† (Merriam Webster/Femininity). When images for â€Å"femininity† are researched, most depict beautiful, perfectly made up, extremely skinny women wearing pink clothing with long, flowing hair. Because of this, sixty nine percent of girls in fifth through twelfth grade reported that pictures on certain types of social media influenced their perception of the ideal body image and forty seven percent of girls in that same age group reported feeling pressure to lose weight because of a picture seen on a certain type of social media (ANAD). If the client likes the candidate then they will talk to the candidate for a final HR round of interview wherein salary negotiation will place. If the candidate is fine with the salary that the client is offering then the candidate will be offered. Once the candidate is offered, it is the responsibility of the recruiter to ensure that the candidate joins the client. The recruiter will continuously be touch with the recruiter. This will help the recruiter to ensure that the candidate will take up the opportunity. If the recruiter thinks at any point of point that the candidate may not join then the candidate should be asked to revoke the offer and the recruiter will start looking for some other candidate for the same position (Hursh 2010).
